1. What this app is

BuildQuote estimates material quantities from the dimensions you enter and turns them into a quote you can send to a client.

Every number it produces is an estimate: it comes from your inputs, the waste factors, and the unit prices you supplied. It is not a measurement of your job site.

2. Not engineering, not code compliance

This app does not perform structural calculations, load-bearing selection, or building-code compliance checks. It does not provide engineering, legal, tax, or code-compliance advice.

For anything structural or load-bearing, and for what your local code requires, consult a licensed design professional or your local building department.

3. Your input decides the answer

Results depend entirely on the accuracy of the dimensions you enter. Wrong input produces wrong output.

Actual material needs depend on site conditions — substrate, cuts, layout, trade practice, and waste — none of which the app can see.

4. Verify before you buy

You are responsible for independently verifying all calculations before ordering or purchasing materials.

Check quantities against the job, and check prices with your supplier on the day you buy.

5. Prices

Cost estimates may not reflect your local retailer's current prices.

This build ships with an empty price book on purpose: every price on a quote came from your own keyboard, and it is a snapshot of what you paid then — not a live quote.

6. Quotes you generate

A quote produced by this app is an estimate. It is not a legal document and it is not a binding contract.

The standard quote footer says so, with the price baseline date and the validity date filled in for you. You can edit that footer; you should not remove the sentences that protect you.

7. Your data

Jobs, prices, and settings stay on your device. No account, no server, no analytics. Speech recognition runs on-device and audio is never uploaded.

You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, on the free plan.

Because there is no server, there is nothing to restore from. Losing the device can mean losing your data unless you turn on the optional iCloud backup (Pro). Loss of data is excluded from liability — see section 11.

8. Acceptable use

Use the app to estimate and quote your own work.

Do not redistribute or resell the app's calculator data as your own service, and do not attempt to bypass the App Store purchase.

9. Intellectual property

The app, its name, and its code belong to the developer. The jobs, prices, notes, photos, and quotes you create belong to you.

10. Payment and refunds

Purchase and payment are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refunds are handled under Apple's policy, not by us.

Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no expiry. If you change devices or reinstall with the same Apple ID, use Restore Purchases.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the app will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the app.

The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages — including lost profit, project delay, wasted materials, structural problems, personal injury, or property damage.

Explicitly not covered: short or over-ordered materials, defective workmanship, cost overruns, and loss of data.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current text ships inside the app, so what you read here is what applies to the build you are using.

Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence are not affected.

Terms live in the app, but this copy of them is served over the public web: the web server and its hosting provider record standard access data — your IP address, the browser's User-Agent, the request path and timestamp.
